Many times over the years I've imagined what my pets experience when they depart this earthly life. This first book in the story of Hutzel's Golden Retriever afterlife is beautifully imagined and written. The concepts of love and loyalty blend to embody the courage each character needs to succeed in their role and, also, reminds me of the courage we humans are given to move forward after the loss of a four-paw companion. This novel series also touches on the eternal spiritual warfare we engage in "on earth as in heaven." I highly recommend this series to readers of all ages from 10 to 110, especially those who have enjoyed the special friendship of canines of all breeds.
